Happy Families at Altapura
Val Thorens, France Map
Altapura is a pure joy; this magnificent five star hotel is in an enviable position right beside the ski piste in the resort and the terrace overlooks the piste with the magic carpet for beginner skiers beyond. Its very close to the Plein Sud chairlift making the start to skiing instantaneous and a pleasure. In fact everything about this hotel is a pleasure. The chic contemporary design is clear from the offset, the hotel feels clean and fresh too, helped by the Nordic influence on the colour scheme. The bedrooms are all of a generous size with beautiful bathrooms to relax in after a sunny day on the slopes.
The three restaurants inhabit equally contemporary spaces, but vary in atmosphere, from the ultra-cozy La Laiterie to the formal Les Enfants Terribles. All restaurants are extremely delicious and offer children friendly meals. The Pure Altitude spa, with its seven treatment rooms and heated indoor and outdoor pool, is a large temptation to encourage one to have a day off from the slopes – but don’t spend all day indoors, the immense ski are awaits.
For ease there is a very well equipped ski hire shop in the hotel, so you don’t need to go anywhere to get yourself organised. The hotel is also a short walking distance from the shops and restaurants of the resort. Just a short walk up the piste would bring you to the 2 star Michelin star restaurant Jean Sulpice – which we would definitely recommend you booking in advance should you wish to go.
Altapura is a hotel that suits couples and families alike and will not disappoint.
Over Easter 2017 we have a private children’s club for guests running for two weeks (25 March – 1 April and 1 April – 8 April) and skilled childcare staff will look after your children whilst you enjoy Val Thorens and the Three Valleys. During other times there is a hotel children’s playroom open in the afternoons for your children to play in.
